Expanded Horizons

 

Today, dystopian visions of dark futures abound. ‘Expanded Horizons’ is a storytelling platform that explores the positive potential of technology and innovation – creating an optimistic outlook on tomorrow’s world. Designed to attract future talent and spark a reappraisal of the Scania brand, the concept came from the belief that ‘to create the future, you just first imagine it.’ 

 

To help envisage this optimistic future, we commissioned a series of stories from visionary genre directors, writers and futurists including film-maker Jennifer Sheridan and game narrative designer Leigh Alexander. The themes of these stories – from living with AI to how future cities can connect us to one another - are further explored within parallel films, roundtable discussions and podcast content.

By assembling a team of people who didn’t traditionally work in advertising and marketing, we aimed to create something that would be both relevant and watched by a tech-savvy audience. We looked to their consumption and cultural trends to craft a suite of stories across platforms they would naturally engage with.
