Genuine X is Jack Morton's innovation practice, set up to explore the intersection of emerging technologies, content and data. I spent the last 18 months of my time at Jack Morton here in a multidisciplinary role that spanned strategy, creative and experience design, working in an agile, always-in-beta department designed to shape the brand experiences of tomorrow.
Whilst in Genuine X I developed a thought-leadership platform that provided a framework for discussing the future of brand experiences, both internally and with our clients. I also designed and co-led a series of client innovation workshops, each filled with insights, ideas and questions designed to position Genuine X as a leading innovation partner and push our clients’ experiences forward, faster. The workshops were a success and became best practice globally, with the target set of hosting them with five of ten of our biggest clients over the next 12 months.
I also researched and wrote a series of Genuine X Papers - printed pieces distributed to clients, each filled with the trends, insights and the landscape shifts redefining audience expectations in tomorrow's world. Each paper was themed around a core innovation pillar - Immersive, Responsive, Curated or Connected. The content ranged from the first recorded mention of VR (in the 1939 short story Pygmalion’s Spectacles) to the emergence of the ‘mirror world’ created by augmented reality.
