KFC
The Colonel’s Arms
The world’s first KFC pub
For the 2022 World Cup, KFC served up an offer too good to refuse: a KFC-themed pub that merged the iconography of the Great British pub with KFC’s inimitable brand to create the ultimate football experience.
The pub was created to launch KFC’s new delivery app, landing the brand at the heart of the cultural conversation by connecting with fans of chicken and football alike.
Tickets to the pub - open for one-week only and hosted by pub landlord Jimmy Bullard - sold out in seconds. Pub-goers were immersed in a drumstick-lover’s paradise - from a ‘ring for chicken’ hotline, to a ‘finger-kickin’ good’ foosball table (where the players were replaced with drumsticks) to an array of KFC beverages (pint of Old Spiced Hen, anyone?). England did alright too.
The viral experience generated over 300 pieces of coverage and scooped up loads of awards.
I was part of the pitch-winning team, developing the creative concept, experience journey and copy by c delving into a world of chicken-related humour (from which I am still in recovery).
